Ladies and gentlemen, I have a sad announcement to make: Kate died. On Thursday 9th of July her engine started to make a strange, rattling noise, so I took her to the local doctor, who – when he heard the noise – reacted with an immediate “Oh no, sh*t, turn her off…”. The diagnosis was: the big end bearings were worn out. Which means a new engine, or a complete revision of the existing one, both starting at AUD 3000, which was the amount I paid for her… So, I decided to leave my dear, first car. She now rests next to one of her family members – a dark red brother – in Coral Bay. I’m pretty sure I saw a tear rolling down one of her headlights when I turned the corner. Or maybe it were my eyes getting a bit blurry…
